Merrill Rotary Holiday Auction Raises $3,000 for Boys & Girls Club

The Rotary Club of Merrill hosted their annual Holiday Auction on Tuesday, December 12th, raising $3,000 for the Boys & Girls Club of Merrill.

This event, a Rotary tradition in Merrill since its inception in 1974, selects a different local non-profit or charitable cause each year as its beneficiary. Past recipients have included The Merrill Food Pantry, HAVEN, and Trinity Daycare. 100% of the proceeds go directly to the chosen recipient.

In a bid to bring holiday cheer to pediatric in-patients across Central Wisconsin, the Rotary Club of Merrill has announced its inaugural Holiday Toy Drive. The drive, which begins immediately, invites community members to donate new, unwrapped toys that would be appropriate for children of all ages.

This community-driven initiative, hosted for the first time by the Merrill service club, aims to ensure that children spending Christmas in the hospital receive a special gift. “Santa Claus,” assisted by Rotary volunteers, plans to distribute the wrapped toys to participating hospitals throughout Central Wisconsin on Christmas Eve.

IGNITE is a brand-new smartphone app that provides simple and direct access to the Rotary and DACdb features club members use the most. It features one-touch links from the home screen to the club calendar, Foundation information, member search, contact information, plus fast and easy ways to share Rotary with prospective members, log service hours, or send service project selfies to the Public Image committee to use in social media campaigns.

The Rotary Club of Merrill is excited to announce its participation in the Wisconsin Department of Transportation's Adopt-A-Highway program. Beginning in April 2023, the club will be responsible for cleaning the segment of WIS 17 from Barnes Creek to Sunrise Road.
